Last Saturday we moved from the residence hall on campus, where we'd been staying during Welcome Week, to our permanent residences. Here you can see those of us who were going to Broadgate Park, waiting for the bus. I was still waiting for my suitcase, so I was probably the person with less luggage there. Problem was, everything I'd had to buy was in little plastic bags, very difficult to move all together!
Y acá estoy esa tarde, después de haber ido a comprar las cosas básicas para la casa. Mucha cosa pesada (juego de ollas, juego de platos, cubiertos, etc), así que fuimos con el carrito hasta la residencia. Luego hubo que volver a devolverlo, por supuesto, no sólo porque es lo que corresponde, sino porque para usar carritos en los supermercados hay que poner una libra de depósito, que te devuelven cuando lo llevás de nuevo. Y uds. me conocen, no voy a perder 1 libra así como así!
And here I am that afternoon, after going shopping for the basic things for the house. Lots of heavy stuff (pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, etc), so we took the shopping trolley back to the residence. Afterwards we had to go back and return it, of course, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because to use a supermarket trolley you need to put in a pound as a deposit, and it's only given back once you return the trolley. And you know me, I'm not going to give up a pound just like that!
