I didn't feel like taking pictures the day I arrived (and anyway, I ended up getting to Nottingham at 7.30 PM, some 36 hours after leaving home in Montevideo, so there wasn't much to see), but on the second day, I did feel like snapping a few.
Sala de conferencias donde nos dieron a los estudiantes internacionales la primera charla. Muy grande, y terminé sentándome muy arriba. Esa pantalla que ven ahi adelante es enorme, en realidad.
Lecture room where we international students had our first event. Huge place, and I ended up sitting very high up. That screen you see there up front is actually enormous.
El campus es muy verde. Van a ver cuando haga un día lindo y haga un recorrido y saque unas cuantas fotos. Acá, con unos buenísimos patos de fondo. A la derecha (mi izquierda), está el lago, pero no se ve.
The campus is very green, you'll see when I have a chance to walk around it on a fine day and take some better pics. Here I am, with a whole flock of ducks behind me. To the right (my left) is the lake, but you can't see it here.
Acá estoy parada en más o menos el mismo lugar de la foto anterior, sólo que sale lo que estaba adelante mio en aquélla. Este es el Portland Building. Junto con el Trent Building, que está al lado, un poco más allá, pero no se ve acá, son los dos edificios grandes donde me da la impresión que está más el "corazón" de la universidad. Hay otros importantes, pero estos dos creo que son los más centrales y generales a todos los estudiantes.
Here I'm standing in more or less the same place I was standing on the last picture, only you can see what was in front of me in the other one. This is the Portland Building. Together with the Trent Building, which is right next to it, a bit ahead, but you can't see here, they are the two buildings where my impression is that the "heart" of the university is. There are other big ones, butg I think these two are the ones that are most central and general to all students.
